Poem inspired by the "Fight of the Century" and the Irish gay marriage referendum

May

Peerless battles were both.
Attained in blood and beautiful movement
Words and intellect inspired the other.
Each engrossed everywhere.

Red glove raised in triumph,
An unparalleled legacy.

Flags held high shimmering like a rainbow,
It took too long.

Altruism abandoned in May.
A world forlorn, brightened.
Power of people
May provide hope.
